• Day 1: Arrive Sri Lanka – After arrival at Colombo International Airport, greet and meet by our representative. Transfer to Kandy (UNESCO World Heritage city at 500 meters elevation, cultural capital of Sri Lanka, last capital of ancient kings, surrounded by mountains and Mahaweli River, hub of Buddhism, famous for Esala Perahera festival, traditional dance performances). En route visit Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage (world’s largest elephant orphanage established in 1975 housing 70+ elephants, witness baby elephants being bottle-fed, bathing time in Ma Oya River twice daily at 10 AM and 2 PM, conservation project for abandoned and orphaned elephants, unique close encounter experience). Check into hotel. Evening visit Temple of the Tooth Relic (Sri Dalada Maligawa) (sacred Buddhist temple housing tooth relic of Buddha brought from India in 4th century, UNESCO World Heritage Site, octagonal structure with golden roof, daily puja ceremonies at dawn, morning, and evening with drumming, pilgrimage site, elaborate architecture, lake views). Dinner and overnight stay in Kandy.
• Day 2: Kandy – Nuwara Eliya – After breakfast, visit Peradeniya Royal Botanical Garden (147-acre botanical garden established in 1843, houses over 4,000 plant species including 300 orchid varieties, giant Javan fig tree with huge canopy, avenue of palm trees, medicinal plants section, riverside location on Mahaweli River, beautifully landscaped, popular filming location). Proceed to Nuwara Eliya (“Little England” hill station at 1,868 meters, Sri Lanka’s highest city, colonial British architecture, cool climate, tea plantations, golf course, Victoria Park, Gregory Lake, strawberry farms, maintains British colonial charm). En route visit Hanuman Temple (Ramboda) (Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman at site where he searched for Sita according to Ramayana, chinmaya tapovanam, scenic location overlooking valley, pilgrimage site for Hindus), Ramboda Waterfall (109-meter cascading waterfall in three tiers, 11th highest in Sri Lanka, viewpoint from road, misty spray, lush surroundings), and Ceylon Tea Factory & Plantation (working tea factory demonstrating Ceylon tea production process from plucking to packaging, witness tea pickers, withering, rolling, fermentation, factory tour with tea tasting, buy premium Ceylon tea, learn about world-famous tea industry). Evening visit Gregory Lake (man-made lake built by British Governor Gregory in 1873, scenic boating, swan boats and jet skis available, walking path around lake, pony rides, mini golf, picturesque with hills backdrop). Check into hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.
• Day 3: Nuwara Eliya – Bentota – After breakfast, check out and proceed to Bentota (coastal paradise on southwest coast, famous for golden sandy beaches, Bentota River meeting ocean, water sports capital with jet skiing, banana boats, windsurfing, river cruises through mangroves, luxury beach resorts, perfect blend of river and sea activities). Scenic drive descending from hills to coast. Check into beach resort. Leisure time on pristine beach enjoying sunshine, swimming, and resort amenities. Dinner and overnight stay at Bentota.
• Day 4: Bentota – City Tour – After breakfast, city tour of Bentota. Visit Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery (conservation center protecting five endangered sea turtle species – Green, Loggerhead, Olive Ridley, Hawksbill, Leatherback, witness baby turtles in tanks, release hatchlings into ocean, learn conservation efforts, injured turtles rehabilitation, educational experience, night-time turtle nesting season from November-April). Enjoy Madu River Boat Ride (wetland sanctuary with 64 islands, mangrove forest ecosystem, boat cruise through narrow waterways, visit Cinnamon Island to see cinnamon processing, fish therapy with doctor fish, small Buddhist temples on islands, monitor lizards, birdwatching including kingfishers and herons, serene nature experience). Optional water sports in Bentota River including jet skiing, banana boat, tube rides at extra cost. Dinner and overnight stay at Bentota.
• Day 5: Bentota – Colombo – After breakfast, check out and proceed to Colombo (vibrant commercial capital and largest city, blend of colonial architecture, modern skyscrapers, Buddhist temples, Hindu kovils, mosques, churches, bustling markets, beach promenade, shopping malls, multicultural hub). Later enjoy city & shopping tour visiting Galle Face Green (oceanfront urban park stretching 500 meters along coast, popular evening gathering spot, street food stalls, kite flying, ocean views, colonial promenade, sunset point), Independence Square (national monument commemorating Sri Lankan independence from British in 1948, Independence Memorial Hall with stone lion throne, open-air pillared structure), Gangaramaya Temple (Buddhist temple with museum, library, relic chamber, vocational school), and shopping districts like Pettah Market and modern malls. Check into hotel. Evening free for leisure. Dinner and overnight stay in Colombo.
• Day 6: Departure – After breakfast, depending on flight time, relax or check out and transfer to Colombo Bandaranaike International Airport for departure flight back home with wonderful Sri Lankan memories.
